Ordinary interior demolition after a restoration release
After a restoration team defines its work, the owner may still need ordinary interiors removed for rebuilding or a wider renovation. Keep those two reasons separate. A release for a named area does not establish that every room or material in the building is ready for disturbance.

Identify exactly what the restoration team has addressed
Ask the responsible professionals to explain the released area, remaining restrictions and any investigation, drying, material or structural decisions still open. The demolition enquiry should follow that information. TrueNorth does not provide a drying certificate, remediation service or insurance-coverage decision through ordinary interior removal.
CCOHS’s abatement guidance describes assessment and controls as dependent on the actual hazards and circumstances. Generic paperwork should not replace confirmation for the proposed work area.
Compare repair-only with a wider refurbishment
| Owner’s choice | Removal contribution to discuss |
|---|---|
| Rebuild the affected room | Remaining ordinary finishes identified by the repair team after its specialist work |
| Renew a connected finish | Additional areas deliberately chosen to meet the new floor or wall treatment |
| Change the layout as well | Separately reviewed partitions and fit-out beyond the restoration scope |
The second and third options are elective project choices. They should not be presented as damage requirements or assumed to be covered by an insurer.
An illustrative connected-room decision
A specialist scope concerns one room, but its floor finish continues into an unaffected hall. The owner can ask the installer about a retained transition or choose a broader finish replacement. The ordinary demolition enquiry must identify which option is selected and which areas remain outside it.
If the source of a bathroom leak is still unknown, start with the leak-before-strip-out guide. This page begins later, once the responsible team has established the relevant scope and release conditions.
Agree what rebuilding receives
Name the exposed surfaces, retained rooms and the person who decides whether unexpected conditions change the work. Repairs, new services and finish installation remain separately assigned. Do not treat the demolition finish date as the building’s return-to-use date.
Request an ordinary interior assessment, explaining the released area, desired renovation and restoration or builder contact. Use the interior-demolition service without assuming emergency response, insurer approval or remediation capability.
Explain your project your way
Use the short enquiry or the optional three-step planner. You can review the summary and leave uncertain details for assessment. Neither form accepts attachments.
