Offices and tenant changes
Planning a strip-out across several office floors
Several floors can belong to one office project without needing identical demolition. Start with a separate retain-and-remove description for each level, then connect the shared access and building-system questions. Copying one floor’s scope across the building can remove useful interiors or omit work the incoming layout needs.

Compare three floors before grouping the work
Consider this illustrative example, not a completed TrueNorth project:
| Level | Intended result | Removal question |
|---|---|---|
| Reception level | Keep reception and meeting rooms | Which adjoining counters or finishes change without treating the retained rooms as empty space? |
| Vacated office floor | Create a different workplace layout | Which tenant partitions, ceilings and flooring leave, and which washrooms remain? |
| Staff-services floor | Renew a kitchenette and selected rooms | Can this be a bounded package while the rest stays outside the work? |
The table describes three receiving conditions, not three production stages. The project team must assess the sequence, building access and availability before assigning dates.
Separate repeated features from confirmed conditions
Similar ceilings can conceal different alterations. A former tenant may have changed one floor while leaving another untouched. Record known variations and identify where drawings do not match visible conditions. An initial assessment can help refine the other descriptions, but it does not certify every repeated assembly.
For the decision within a single level, read selective removal or a full-floor strip-out. Keep this multi-floor enquiry focused on how those different packages relate.
Shared systems do not follow tenant boundaries
Management and the responsible trades establish which services cross the work areas. Lift access, loading routes, common corridors and retained operations need one coordinated review. A vacant floor is not proof that work above or below it is independent.
Ask whether separately released areas or one combined package better matches the reviewed project. Do not treat that choice as a promise of simultaneous crews, uninterrupted occupancy or high-rise specialist capacity.
Give the receiving team a floor-by-floor summary
List each floor, what stays, what leaves and who accepts the exposed condition for the next fit-out. Assign repairs and installation separately from removal. Use our office strip-out service to request the assessment, then describe the floors in the short enquiry. Mention the manager coordinating the combined project and any unresolved design decisions.
Explain your project your way
Use the short enquiry or the optional three-step planner. You can review the summary and leave uncertain details for assessment. Neither form accepts attachments.
