Yard and structures

How do I describe a hot tub with a deck built around it?

Explain the tub and the surrounding structure separately. A tub sitting inside a deck opening may not have the same removal route as one on an open pad. Do not assume the deck is included in the request unless you want it assessed too.

Separate the decisions

Identify what must remain and whether the opening is visible from accessible positions. Connected electrical or other services need the appropriate professional before removal. The equipment’s apparent age or lack of use does not establish that it is disconnected.

What to explain next

Ask whether the tub, deck opening and access route can be assessed together. Confirm the actual removal capability and scope before booking; no lifting method or equipment suitability is promised from a photo. If retaining the deck is essential, state that before choosing a removal plan.

Put the uncertainty into words

“The tub sits inside a raised deck that we hope to keep. It is still connected, and we do not know whether it can leave through the existing opening.”

  • What part of the deck must stay?
  • Who confirms service disconnection?
  • Does the access route need separate assessment?

Choose your next step

Use the short enquiry, or organise what you know in the optional three-step planner. You can leave uncertain details for assessment. The form does not accept attachments.
