Pool-area refurbishment: ordinary interiors around a retained pool
Changing rooms and adjoining finishes can be renewed while the pool itself remains outside the demolition package. Draw that boundary first. A pool-area refurbishment should not be mistaken for pool removal or an instruction to alter its shell, waterproofing or treatment systems.

Separate the pool from the rooms around it
| Area | Ordinary-removal question | Separate responsibility |
|---|---|---|
| Changing room | Which fixed fittings, partitions and finishes leave? | Services and new installation |
| Adjoining circulation | Which finish layers are identified for assessment? | The designer’s retained wet-area assembly |
| Pool structure and equipment | Kept outside the ordinary interior package | Pool specialist’s assessment and work |
The designer and waterproofing contractor should specify retained layers and the receiving condition. A visible tile surface does not establish how the assembly below it relates to the pool.
Compare finish renewal with a wider amenity refit
In an illustrative limited renewal, the changing-room layout stays and named fittings and finishes are replaced. The pool boundary and its specialist systems remain outside the ordinary demolition scope.
In a wider amenity redesign, selected room divisions and additional adjoining finishes may leave under the reviewed plan. That added interior work does not absorb pool-shell or water-treatment responsibilities. The removal limits should remain clear at every wet-area junction.
Use the commercial washroom guide for fixture and layer comparisons. If the actual intention is to remove a pool, the separate pool-removal service needs its own assessment rather than an expanded changing-room instruction.
Agree the closure and rebuilding sequence
Management and the responsible professionals determine closures, access and the availability of retained facilities. A pool remaining physically in place does not establish that it can be used during nearby work. Do not infer a reopening date from completion of ordinary removal.
Assign the exposed-surface inspection, repairs, new waterproofing or finishes and specialist commissioning to the appropriate parties. TrueNorth’s ordinary removal contribution does not certify shell integrity or water-treatment performance.
Describe the retained pool boundary
Ask for a commercial interior assessment, naming the rooms, proposed changes, retained pool and specialist contacts. The commercial strip-out service is the relevant route for ordinary interiors. State any uncertainty about wet-area layers before a scope is agreed.
Explain your project your way
Use the short enquiry or the optional three-step planner. You can review the summary and leave uncertain details for assessment. Neither form accepts attachments.
